I am a broadcast journalist, turned internet journalist, turned broadcast journalist again... or should I say "podcast journalist"!
As Travel Editor at the world's largest commercial radio station, Classic FM, (six years from launch) I produced and presented a weekly one-hour travel programme which reached a national audience of almost 1/4 million in the UK and which visited between 80-100 worldwide destinations per annum. I also produced Classic FM's commercial travel inserts which appeared in programmes and commercial breaks.
Before Classic FM I worked for a large Independent Local Radio station in the UK where I produced & presented a string of successful speech-based programmes (business, personal finance, travel & arts).
Now I work as a freelance podcast producer/editor/journalist for companies, organisations and national newspapers. I am also an online travel editor (Travel Lists) and freelance web editor & SEO consultant (Alastair McKenzie.com). I am also a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers and its webmaster.
